TODAY I MADE MORE HARDWARE INTO SOFTWARE

I've been really busy at work so it's been a while since I've updated this. Here is a new batch of jewelry made of hardware store finds. The first one is made of tiny rubberbands and the rest are created from a variety of rubber washers, brass washers, mallard feathers and rabbit fur (both for fly fishing ties) and something called 3/16" barbs found in the plumbing section. I can't pretend to know what the parts are really for and the employees at the hardware store still can't figure out why I'm there.

TODAY I MADE HARDWARE INTO A JEWELRY EXPERIMENT

This is the beginning of a line of jewelry, all made of things found at hardware stores. I like the idea of turning something hard and utilitarian into something soft and feminine. Outside of a few jump rings and clasps, all the pieces here are made of washers, brass chains, raw wool, mesh window screens, and bolts. 

A lot more is in the works. This is just the start. Trial and error and a lot of wires, cutters and broken nails.

TODAY I MADE A DISCOVERY

Boatssm

9.5" x 5", watercolor on paper.

I've been busy making things for clients so haven't updated in a while. Here's a new one...kinda' cheating... but it's still something I made, just not recently. I thought I lost this little watercolor during a move but was really happy to find it again. I did this several years ago while living in Amsterdam, of boats on the Amstel River.

TODAY I MADE A VINYL-TAPE LAMPSHADE

I bought this funny pink deer lamp base but it had no shade. So I dug up an old lampshade, some vinyl tape and made this. I think the deer looks happy with it.
